Menopause is nothing to be afraid of: a new course offering at Lifecycle Women's Health this fall

Menopause is nothing to be afraid of!

Learn how to thrive in it, not just survive it.

Are you wondering why you can never find your keys? Why your feel your mood is on a roller coaster? Why are you waking up at night flushed and sweating? Why you are losing hair in some places and gaining hair in areas you never dreamed possible.

Congratulations! You are entering menopause. A normal time of life that is so loaded on every level. But, what ever you are experiencing mentally and physically, you need to know that menopause is not a disease, it is a normal life transition that is rarely discussed in both personal and medical circles. So as a result, people are often deprived of opportunities to truly honor and celebrate the transition or to learn how to prevent more serious problems that can occur later in life.

I am so excited to be offering this class. It will be an interactive discussion group with the goal to help people understand and find relief from the changes that happen during perimenopause and beyond, and to learn how to advance through this transition with gratitude, knowledge, and power. Here are some of the topics we will cover:

  • What is happening to my body and what should I do?: Common changes including but not limited to hot flashes, memory changes, skin alterations, vaginal dryness, mood changes, and decreased sexual desire.

  • Hormonal changes and balancing. What really is happening to your hormones and how to be in control of them, instead of letting them control you.

  • How to embrace this time as an opportunity to improve your physical and mental health now and to prepare for the years ahead.

The course will run on three Wednesdays from 6 to 8 pm:

  • September 18: Common changes and great solutions

  • October 16: Hormones 101

  • November 20: Staying strong and healthy as you become older and better

The class will be held at the Big White Barn, 169 South Road, Readfield ME

The cost is $25 for one session or $60 for all three (People are encouraged to attend all three sessions to build connections with others in the group.)

Preregistration is required.  The class size will be small, so be in touch early to reserve your place.
